I contacted Hays Resource Management as I found a vacancy on the UCL (university) website advertised by Hays Resource Management at UBS. I’d heard of Hays before and knew it was a reputable company.
When I rang to find out about the role, I spoke with the Hays RM consultant who was fantastic. Although the position had already gone, my consultant gave me the opportunity to talk about my experience, and took the time out to listen to what I had to say. She was really proactive and kept me in mind for other roles, keeping contact with me. We had a good relationship.
I was well prepared for the interview, received a job specification, and briefed on the client and what kind of questions to expect. My consultant was really easy to talk to and answered lots of questions I had. She extracted as much information from the client as possible to ensure I understood what to expect. She had a good ability to present the key facts and I know other people placed through Hays RM say the same things.
I got the position and it was the first job I was put forward for. My expectations were managed, and although at the time I was offered the position, my consultant was on holiday, her Hays RM colleagues were fully briefed about me, and so I wasn’t left wondering what was happening. The offer process was clear and went smoothly.
The position is working out and exactly as I was told it would be. My consultant didn’t try to hide anything from me (ie that I’d need to work long hours sometimes), and so fully managed my expectations.
Even though I’ve been here since August, I’ve had regular contact from Hays RM.
In my opinion, Hays RM excels in this industry because of the strong emphasis it puts on building a close relationship with it's clients. This enables it to really understand the expectations for both parties.
I would also like to say that my consultant the perfect role model of how a recruitment consultant should represent their company and conduct themselves.
In summary – I’ve received a very distinguished service, my application was managed seamlessly and the Hays RM are staff highly trained. I would most definitely recommend working for Hays Resource Management to other people and have referred many of my friends who are now also working through this organisation.
