I was contacted by the Hays Resource Management consultant who had had found my CV and contact details on a CV website. She was calling me to discuss a permanent role which she thought I would be interested in and which she thought my skills matched. Since I’d always wanted to work for a large investment bank, I was immediately interested and so wanted to pursue the opportunity and meet with the client.
My consultant was phenomenal throughout the entire recruitment process, she kept in contact with me constantly even for the tiniest update and smallest piece of feedback. I liked the fact that unlike other agencies I’ve worked for who only accept calls from you at the end of the day; she always made me feel like I could call her any time of the day. I was told that if I called and couldn’t get hold of her, to just to send a quick email and she’d come back to me…and she always did.
The Hays consultant kept in contact with me constantly throughout the process as she knew I was eager and fired up about working with the bank, and she helped me so much in preparing me for the interview which just made me more excited. The information she provided on the client, the constant feedback and interaction, helped me to gain the confidence I needed, and also ensured I was fully prepared on what to expect from the interview.
I was supplied with plenty of material about the client and role and pointers on which parts of the material were most relevant to me – she broke the information down for me and made it an easy and simple process. I was also fully informed about the make up of department etc which was helpful to know for the interview. If she didn’t know the answer to one of my many questions, she would find out and come back to me straight away.
The main things that stood out for me were:
- The level of consultation I received throughout the process – it got me more excited about going for the role and I felt confident at the interview. I have worked for smaller institutions previously so I was a bit nervous and the consistent feedback was key for me.
- The patience I received from Hays, I wasn’t ever made to feel like I couldn’t pick up the phone, She always had time to speak with me, and if she didn’t she’d call me back.
Everything is working out really well, I love working for the bank and am planning on staying here for a while. The role is exactly how I’d expected, and was at no point “over-sold” to me.
I would most certainly recommend anyone looking for work to come through Hays Resource Management, I received an excellent service.
